21 Preludes is the author's album by classical guitarist Adam Pavlíček. The album features 21 compositons for solo guitar called Prelude (I.-XI.) and New Prelude (1-10). Preludes are virtuoso compositions that Adam composed in part during his studies of classical guitar at the conservatory and academy between 2001—2009 and the rest over the next years until 2022. New Preludes Adam composed within a short period of time in late 2022 into the final 5th volume of his Guitar School – from the 1st to 7th Year Of Study, which will be gradually released by music publisher Notovna.cz. Notovna.cz will later publish also a scores of Preludes I.—XI. The New Preludes sound virtuosic like the previous eleven Preludes, but they are written in a technical difficulty that is suitable for middle advanced players. The entire album can be described musically as an album of contemporary classical music. Some compositions have a modern character using dissonances and unusual harmonious progressions, but they do not leave the boundaries of tonality. In other compositions you will hear rather a style of melody and harmony of late Romanticism, Impressionism and there is also a strong influence of contemporary genres such as jazz, folk and pop. Rich dynamics, the use of different colours of tones and the overall emotional expression as well as the virtuosic technique of Adam Pavlíček's play will bring an interesting and enjoyable experience especially to lovers of classical guitar and instrumental music.
